A cross-country skier from Ugra Sergey Yermilov was given an honor to carry a flag of Russian Federation on the official Opening Ceremony of the XVIII Winter Deaflympics. This decision was taken by the Russian Committee of Deaf Sports.
Sergey Yermilov has an experience of being a flag-bearer before. He has received a flag of Winter Deaflympics during the ceremony of passing a relay from Summer Deaflympics that took place on March’24 on Poklonnaya Gora, Moscow.
37 y.o. member of the national team of Russia is a champion and a prize-winner of Deaflympics in cross-country skiing, a world champion and a champion of Russia.
Sergey Yermilov is training with a coach Sergey Kryanin. His coach says: «It is a great honor to be a flag-bearer of the national team of Russia on these competitions. I am very happy for Sergey and proud of him. I worry a little bit, because he needs to have enough rest before the race tomorrow. Hope he will not feel nervous today during the ceremony”.
