Brenda Davidson: I’ve been playing curling for 38 years

The curling game between Russia and Canada was a jewel of the second day of competitions. This time team from North America was stronger. A captain of the team Brenda Davidson showed a very good play. By the way, the athlete has recently turned 50.

«All my family members are die-hard fans of curling. I was brought into this sport by my parents. I was born without hearing disorders but lost my hearing when I was 12.  That’s when I started playing curling. All my life during the last 30 years was dedicated to curling. We are like a big family with all the athletes. Every day we meet each other and train, and we also travel a lot to participate in different competitions», – said Brenda to the official media-center of the Deaflympics.

Canadian athlete has thanked the organizers of the competitions. «Your volunteers are so nice, the organization is perfect. Khanty-Mansiysk is an amazing city, cozy houses, beautiful nature, and picturesque hills! I paid my attention that people here are very calm and polite; they are open-hearted and smile a lot. And the city is very beautiful», – said Brenda.

The coach of Russian women’s deaf curling team Vitaly Karpinskiy has also commented on the organization of the competitions.

«All competitions of such level are organized well, we have no complaints. The ice was made by people whom we know a long time. We were training on their ice in Sochi. That’s why this ice is as good as the ice for the Olympics», – said he.
