Today, on April’04 women’s mass-start race of the Winter Deaflympics was held in Khanty-Mansiysk. All medals of the race were won by Russian athletes.
14 athletes from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, China, South Korea and Japan were participating in the race. However, the leaders were the skiers of host-country. After 3,7 km of the race Anna Fedulova, Lyubov Misharina and Raisa Golovina were leading with half a minute gap between them and their nearest pursuer Alisa Pyshniak from Ukraine.
In the middle of the distance the gad from Pyshniak widened even more.
After 8,7 km Russian trio shortened to a duet. Anna Fedulova and Lyubov Misharina were leaving the race, while Raisa Golovina was 40sec back. Pysniak was more than a minute back the leaders.
The winner of the race was defined just before the finish. Anna Fedulova managed to take the lead and finished with the best result – 33 min 32,5 sec. Lyubov Misharina was 23,6 sec back. Raisa Golovina finished third, 1 min 04,6 sec back.
It is worth noting that for Anna Fedulova from Ugra this was the third gold medal of these Deaflympics. On March’29 she won gold in skiathlon and on April’01 was the first in free style sprint. Thus, Anna Fedulova was the winner in all cross-country skiing disciplines of the Deaflympics 2015!
