2 medal events were held today in Magnitogorsk in super combined discipline of alpine skiing. 29 men and 11 women from 13 countries were participating in the competitions.
The following atheletes of Russia were taking part in this discipline: Denis Yaberdin, Ilia Ivanov, Alexander Yakovlev, Ruslan Shaikhutdinov, Angelina Khamitsevich, Alina Ryabchikova and Marina Zvereva.
In men’s super combined gold was won by Giacomo Pierbon from Italy. Philipp Steiner from Switzerland showed second result. Nicolas Sarremejane was the bronze winner in super combined.
«The race was very difficult and I am happy I was able to compete cold-hearted. Calmness helped me to ski well», – said Giacomo Pierbon after the flower ceremony.
Philipp Steiner has shared his emotions with journalists: «I am very glad to win silver. I am not so strong in this discipline, but I am on podium again and this is a very good result for me. I am happy».
In women’s super combined the leader was Tereza Kmochova from Czech Republic. The athlete has won gold in all alpine skiing disciplines. Journalists working on the Deaflympics in Magnitogorsk call this series of victories «the epoch of Tereza Kmochova». Silver and bronze medals in super combined are won by Melissa Kock and Beatrice Brunnbauer from Austria.
In men’s super combined the results of Russia team were the following: Alexander Yakovlev was 10th at finish, Ruslan Shaikhutinov – 13th, Ilia Ivanov – 20th. In women’s competitions Marina Zvereva was 7th, Alina Ryabchikova – 9th and Angelina Khamitsevich was disqualified.
