The vice-president of the Russian Deaf Organization Stanislav Ivanov was watching a game of men’s curling tournament Russia vs. Canada. The media-center of the tournament used this opportunity and asked him to answer a couple of questions.
«These are my third Deaflympics. I can assure you that the level of organization and the location of sport venues and the hospitality of people make these Games the best among all Deaflympics I’ve attended. Thismakesmehappy», – saidhe.
While talking about the psychological make-up of Russian team, Stanislav Ivanov noted that he managed to talk with the athletes before the game. «They feel very determined, concentrate on winning the game, that’s what they came here for. I’d like to remind that our team is participating 3 three Deaflympic disciplines for the first time. Theyarecurling, alpineskiingandsnowboarding. Today Russia won gold in snowboarding for the first time in the history of Deaflympics. I am sure we will continue this tradition, – said the vice-president of the Russian Deaf Organization. – Our home Deaflympics make us feel more responsible. Athletes are receiving more public attention; they are not used to it.I hope this will help them and give additional strength, they will do their best to win!» – added he.
