The Commission of the Ministry of Sport has given the highest rating to the readiness of Khanty-Mansiysk for the Deaflympics

According to the results of the special commission the infrastructure of Khanty-Mansiysk is ready for hosting the Winter Deaflympics. This was stated by the director of the Division of organizing and conducting sport events Mikhail Seredkin.

The commission of the Ministry of Sport of Russia on control under organizing and conducting of the XVIII Winter Deaflympics has visited Ugra capital once again and has given the highest rating to the readiness of Khanty-Mansiysk for the forthcoming international sport event.

«I am sure, all the issues that are still not solved, will be solved during the month that is left before the start of the Games. Obviously, this is a very big responsibility for a city, especially because before the Deaflympics Khanty-Mansiysk will also be hosting Biathlon World Cup Final. However, local Organizing Committee has many professionals, so I am sure, everything will be ok. It is not for nothing that for many years Khanty-Mansiysk has been given right to host many big international sport events», – saidMikhail Seredkin.

He has given 10 points out of 10 for the readiness of Khanty-Mansiysk for the Deaflympics.

It is to be noted that the memorandum on readiness of sport venues will be signed a week before the start of the Games, the preparation process will be completes a month before the Opening of the Deaflympics.

It is to be reminded that the XVIII Winter Deaflympics will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk from March’28 till April’05. The program of the competitions includes 5 disciplines – snowboard, ice hockey, cross-country skiing, curling and alpine skiing. Around 450 athletes from 27 countries are going to take part in the Deaflympics.

The Games will take place on 5 sport venues. The participants of the Deaflympics will be competing for the medals in the Ice Palace, in the cultural and entertainment complex “Arena-Ugra”, on the alpine skiing complex “Khvoyny Urman” and the Alexander Filipenko Winter Sport Centre.
