The XVIII Winter Deaflympics were presented on the XVIII journalist festival “The Whole Russia” on the 5th of October.
The forum of the Journalist Union took place in Sochi on October 1-7. It united more than 800 representatives of national and regional media, as well as journalists from Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Italy, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Workshops, briefings, brainstorms took place simultaneously at several venues of the festival.
The delegation of Ugra has presented in Sochi a new media project “Sport Spring in Ugra”.
The journalists were invited to take part in the information sharing about the Winter Deaflympics in Khanty-Mansiysk. The audience has watched a film about athletes with disabilities living in Ugra, and was informed about the process of preparing and accreditation for the Deaflympics.
The representatives of the media were offered to visit the capital of the Deaflympics 2015 with a press tour. The first one is planned for the last week of November.
The majority of the journalists has heard about the Deaflympics for the first time. They have showed a great interest in it.

All the visitors of the presentation were given a booklet “Khanty-Mansiysk without barriers” from the Centre of adaptive sport of Ugra dedicated to the sport venues of Ugra capital, where the main competitions of the last 4 years for the deaf athletes will take place.
The head of the integration working group of the Committee for providing life support for the disabled women and children Natalia Krel, who also participated in the forum, has noted a high level of sport activities for the physically challenged people in Ugra: “You have very strong teams in many sports. I know several athletes personally. When they are coming for competitions in Sochi, they are competing on a good level and always show high results. The Deaflympics are very important not only for the deaf but for people without disabilities as well. They will help us to understand and to hear each other better. This is one more way to make the world more kind”.
