Ella Shevlyakova (Russia), 1st place: I knew that I had a chance to win. I was feeling confident. Though I got my leg injured before the competitions and in Khanty-Mansiysk pain increased. This did not allow me to win medals in the previous disciplines. Today I felt pain but I wanted to show a good result. I stringed myself up to win and did my best. I wouldn’t be able to leave Khanty-Mansiysk without a medal.

Svetlana Anisimova (Russia), 3rd place: I participated in three disciplines and won three bronze medals. Idon’tknowwhythishappened. Well, maybe this was my destiny. Today I had a chance to show the better result, but this didn’t happen. I tried to keep close to the Norwegian athlete, wanted to outrun her but fell. Still I stood up and continued the race. I am not disappointed with my bronze today. ThesearemyfirstDeaflympicsand I shouldn’t complain.

Tomas Pazdera (Czech Republic), 1st place: Everything was great! I am incredibly happy. Now I am overwhelmed with emotions. This is the first “gold” of the Deaflympics in my life! Today my competitors were very strong. Still I tried not to pay much attention to them. I was just following my goal and concentrating on it.

Blair Esson (USA), 2nd place: I am very happy to win silver today. This is a perfect result! I won medals in each Discipline I was participating in. This is one of the brightest episodes in my life. I will keep the memories about Khanty-Mansiysk through all my life. Still I don’t want to rest, I will be training for the next Deaflympics and will do my best to repeat my success.

Alexey Ignatenko (Russia), 3rd place: I am very happy. Before the start of the competitions I felt nervous and worried. Fortunately, I was able to win the medal. It is such a success for me to be among top 3 athletes when the competitors are so strong.
